Choice between Arduino 33 BLE and 33 IoT

Hello, I have found a closed post Power consumption: Nano 33 IoT vs 33 BLE which exactly describes my requirement. I need a board with only BLE communication and nothing else, no sensing functionality, I will just be reading pulses from a hall effect sensor, like a bicycle speedometer, and sending them over BLE by small batches (does not have to be realtime, the data can arrive a second or two late)

I am confused by the answer given on that post, because it says that the 33 BLE will use less power, but I am under the impression that the 33 IoT has a slower processor with smaller memory and thus it should be the other way around, the IoT should be the one using less energy. Can someone clarify?

Thank you!

Try their datasheet and compare.
One uses Wifi, one uses BT...

Hi, from what I see, both can do BLE. The difference is that IoT can also do wifi, but for the purpose of my question, both boards are BLE.

Any different circuitry on the boards will make a difference.
Again, use their datasheets to be sure.

Nano IoT has two MCU. SAMD and ESP32. ESP32 provides WiFi/BT/BLE . two MCU means higher consumption.

Nano BLE has only a nRF52 MCU with in-chip BLE (no classic Bluetooth)

Many thanks that's super clear! Nano 33 BLE for me then
