Choices for a Vaccum Desoldering gun : Share your thoughts / experience

Hi all,

Having an Ersa Pico soldering station as well as an AOYUE Int968 rework station,
I am now considering to purchase a de-soldering gun to facilitate easy removal of through hole components.

I am considering the AOYUE Int8800 and the ZD-985 reviewed by Dave on eevblog here .

Anyone has any experience on any of these tools? Any other suggestions welcome.

I have a similar version of this.
I like this gun version as opposed to the hand wand that Pace offers.

Buy one or two motor control boards in case you need to replace it later.

Is this the portable version Larry fhat just plugs on mains socket without the station?

Yes
120VAC Canada/US outlet type.

All electronics and motor is in the unit itself.

I have a Hakko 808 and a Hakko FR-300. (Different voltages, for different countries.) Both are excellent. I can usually get a part off a board and re-use both the part and the board.
