I tried to find on the Internet ACS758 sensor, where is already added circuit board. And results are not good, so now I think that somebody from there could help out the manufacture of the circuit board.
I need information on what kind of board should be selected and what to take into account in making the circuit board? What component need to add to that configuration? and so on. All neccessaries things I´d like to hear.
The purpose would be to measure the house main current.
Measuring the house main current imposes a high level of danger! This product requires connection in series with the main supply line. I wouldn't attempt it and I have experience working with 600VAC @ 100A.
Why not get this information from your electricity meter? If it has an active intrared LED, it would pulse at a value determined by the energy constant (kh or kp). An infrared detector could pick this up, then you could measure its timing to get energy and divide by voltage (220 or 240) to get estimated current. Also, this information might already be available through your utility on-line.
You might want to consider a using clamp-on ammeter as a safer alternative.
Anyways, regarding the sensor, the best resource for a circuit board is the manufacturer's demo/evaluation board. I believe they use 4-oz copper. Look on their website for their PCB specifications.
That eval board is clearly not safe for mains. You are looking for decent separation and preferably a slot
through the board to prevent tracking and breakdown in humid conditions.
sir iam new here... i waant to make a AC CURRENT Measuring unit using acs758 current sensor. i didnt interface it with aurdino board.. i neeed to know how the calculation is posible to convert the output voltage of sensor. i mean what is the equation for to convert to current.. plz help me . your answer is in analogue values then my work is simple becos i didnt interface to adc.. ??? plz help me guyzzzzz
