Circuit Designing Software?

Hi,

I'm trying to learn how to develop things in Arduino. Is there any software that can help me design circuits. I'm still struggling trying to figure out what additional components to add to my projects (e.g. bias resistor for my phototransistor, etc.).

It would be extremely helpful if there was some sort of software that I could use to help me make these calculations. At minimum, it would also be helpful if I can use it to create circuit diagrams so I can post them here when I need help.

Thanks.

Try this... I use it extensively!

Looks promising, but how to I design circuits on it?

I haven't used the software much, I just got a couple links from a buddy. I'd like to get into designing my own boards after I get more of a basis of what I might actually want.:stuck_out_tongue:

All 3 are fairly popular, I believe most companies will create the boards for you with the files you create in the programs. (Check with the company to see exact file types)

You actually want to Google for 'circuit simulators' these allow you to draw or define circuits and check their operation. Also look at SPICE and PSPICE.

However before it can do this it needs a model of the component you are using. Most common components are already modelled and available but things like photo transistors aren't.
