Hey guys,
in preparing for a talk I'm giving on Thursday (here in El Paso, Texas), I realized that one of the issues in restarting my yun was not having a clean shutdown. As many of you know, there many reasons that can fail a startup - Arduino has some suggested and I have some bookmarked (from comments some of you have made).
The Purpose of this Post
So, the purpose of this post is to gather additional feedback before I write a blog post on this.
My Clean Shutdown
sync
reboot && exit
or
sync
halt && exit
As some of you know, the bulk of the utilities are actually part of the monolith BusyBox. The man page and the list of all the utilities that busy box has is here: BusyBox - The Swiss Army Knife of Embedded Linux. The standard shutdown utility is not included, so you have to use sync and reboot or sync and halt. My notes on all CLI utilities for Yun are here: The Yún CLI Tools
