Clone axis on Mega

I'm building a CNC router with dual Y-axis steppers. I want to use a Mega board and this CNC shield: https://www.tindie.com/products/eccentricwkshp/grblduino-mega-lite-grbl-11-arduino-cnc-shield/

What I can't figure out is how to clone the Y-axis to drive two steppers.

this is everything else but not CNC shield.
to clone every axes here simple connect two wires to one signal.
am i right, you have two drivers for both Y motor?

You would normally do as Kolaha says and simply wire both drivers to the same axis.
Keep your wires as short as possible and if possible screened.

Also as he says that is simply a BREAKOUT board not really a shield.

Thanks folks, that's very helpful. I'm looking forward to getting my PrintNC router up and moving!

good luck

You can also wire the two motors in series so they get the same current (ie motor 1's A winding in series with motor 2's A winding, same for the B windings).

This does limit the max speed somewhat, so you might want separate drivers to avoid this.

no. the (rotation) speed depends on the frequency of the step pulses.

The max speed of a stepper depends on the inductance of the motor, the power supply voltage, and mechanical load and damping. Just increasing the step rate won't change this!

O RLY? you confused a stepper motor with a DC motor.
