The original post and subject line should not be removed in this way as it prevents someone in the future that has a similar question from finding the thread.
Occasionally I see [CLOSED] or [SOLVED] prepended to the subject line. This seems fine to me, although I don't know if this forum has a recommendation or convention regarding the practice.
