What is up with the "refreshes"? I've had the cloud wipe out my work several times now. I'll be working on my code, then, all of a sudden, blank screen, then return to the top of the sketch and whatever I was doing at the moment is gone.
Not Cool.
Hi @ragnardanneskjold. I'm sorry about the problem with Arduino Cloud.
Which editor are you using? Currently, Arduino Cloud offers three different editors you can use to develop sketches:
- Thing sketch editor
- Cloud Editor (AKA "new" editor or "full editor")
- "Old" editor (AKA "Arduino Web Editor")
I'm using the Thing sketch editor.
Same annoying problem when I too use the "Thing sketch editor". I end up back at the top of the refreshed page every 10 minutes or so. Fortunately, work up to the moment of refresh is usually not lost. Chrome browser, Ubuntu 20.04.
Also using the Thing Sketch editor... Constant refreshes of the pages (including the dashboard) makes using the Arduino cloud quite difficult. Chrome browser Win 11
Data up to the last second or 2 is captured, but refreshes in the middle of verifying or uploading kill the task and must be restarted.
Hi all. I am not involved in the development of the Thing sketch editor so I can't be of any assistance with that. The team who develops it monitors this forum category so hopefully one of them will provide assistance.
For now, I recommend you use Arduino Cloud Editor (AKA "full editor") as a workaround. I am not aware of any such problems with refreshing in Cloud Editor and you can use it for development, compilation, and uploading of your Thing sketches just the same as in the Thing sketch editor (in fact, Cloud Editor is much more feature rich so you might find you actually prefer it for this purpose after you get used to the change). I am peripherally involved in the development of Cloud Editor so I will be happy to investigate and escalate any problems you might encounter while using it.
You can open your Thing sketch in Cloud Editor by clicking the "</> Open full editor" button on the Thing sketch toolbar. Alternatively, you can open the full list of your sketches on this page and then click on any sketch to open it in Cloud Editor:
Thanks ptillisch for your response. It's been quite a few days since the problem was first flagged so I'm a little surprised there has been no action. The full editor can offer a workaround, but it doesn't address the Dashboard refresh problem. Can whoever is responsible for the Thing sketch editor and Dashboard be alerted that the Arduino Cloud is not living up to expectations?
I would suggest working locally and keeping a local copy safe, and uploading from there.
Please report the problem via the form at the following link:
https://www.arduino.cc/en/contact-us/
This will ensure the problem is brought to the attention of the people who can resolve it.
Thanks,
Problem reported as advised.

Hello,
I'm experiencing the same thing as described. This also happens when I am uploading the sketch to the board. Has the sketch been uploaded or not?
Very annoying.
And problem reported as advised.
How more problems reported how quickly the fix it (I hope).
Regards Bert
