Hi larryd, I'm very sorry about this. As noted in the linked message we are removing limitations so the situation should be back to normal soon.
Until I can once again become a full member of this community, I will be staying away.
My sincere apologies as we never wanted to create such a feeling. We are working to improve our defences so we can react better the next time, our goal is to block attackers without disrupting usage of our platform.
aarg:
The main site is usually unreachable now from Canada due to this problem, still happening as of 4:08 PM UTC on Friday, November 6.
Was available with no serious issues (Northern Ontario) all day yesterday and a quick wander around most of the site this morning shows improved speed.
Clear you browsers Cache is a first step to checking the site.
The last 3-4 days I have been locked out from continuing to enjoy and help others enjoy this hobby called Arduino.
I also seem to have no end of problems accessing the forum, however I've found pressing my browser refresh button (F5) a number of times eventually brings up my avatar and account. Although, it continues to log me in and out at random as I browse through the forum itself.
I'm experiencing some other weird behaviour as well. Today I was writing a reply on the Robotics forum, pressed the "preview" button, but was unexpectedly logged out and redirected to the Installation & Troubleshooting forum instead. Losing your entire reply is rather frustrating to say the least.
I've had to select and copy this text to my clipboard (CTRL-C) before sending, just in case.

This evening things seem to have been rectified.
Not quite yet...
I was trying to answer some question, and of course i did (try to) preview my post to be sure the picture would be visible.
Instead of seeing the preview, i was lead to PerryBebbington's How to get the best out of this forum post.
This is something any new member should see and actually read.
But it is an outrageous insult to serve that to someone who knows their way around the forum very well, and has been around asking questions and helping people for at least 8 years, like me.
