CNC cheap z-axis alternatives

Hello everyone,

I am thinking of using one of these two Z-axis alternatives for my cheap cnc arduino.

I am using:

  • 24 power supply
  • GAUPS Arduino-compatible Stepper Shield kit (found here)
  • 4x Stepper driver modules, Pololu DRV8825 (found here)

Which of these should I use for a simple up/down z-axis?

  1. Longer Micro Stepper Motor with Screw and Fitting for Linear Motion

Drive voltage: DC3-6V/500mA two-phase four-wire

  1. Linear Actuator Stepper Motor

    Stepper Motor: 28BYJ-48 5V DC
    Microswitch 1A 125V AC
    Actual Rated Input Voltage: 5V

Will either of these be compatible with my drivers? Which do you think is better?

Thanks

The plastic version says that it's 3 d printed and "fine sandpaper" will be required during the assembly process.
Are you happy to spend time fixing manufacturing faults so that the thing can be put together?
