I have made a cnc plotter with DVD drive.....and l293d shield...my cnc is printing mirror image....what do i do now...? 
Turn the stepper connector round for the axis that is causing the image.
Or if you are running GRBL there is an option to INVERT an axis.
Note that the l295 is not the best option and considered inefficient for these types of job.
Thanks dude....i got rid of that problem...what is the best option to replace l293d?
A CNC shield on a UNO with matching drivers and better steppers (nema 14 or 17) and GRBL on the UNO.
It will give you so many options useful to your particular task.
Scale up or down speed up or down on the fly and much finer detail.
