I see many on you tube using as aduino r3's ,but how many out their use grbl for their software on their cnc plasma table and what setting should someone start at thanks Robert
Use GRBL 1.1F here with no issues.
Variety of clones and real arduinos and all work fine.
As with any issue the devil is in the details so please add as much as you can.
EDIT. I dont have plasma only laser and regular woodworking, same difference but plasma has a higher noise factor so extra precautions are needed.

in your builds do you set stepper drivers to the same as grbl
grbl
110 320
111 320
112 320
tb6600 set for X8
their both basically the same thing
You are looking at the max travel rate settings.
These will depend on the motors used and possibly the screw pitch in some regards.
In my case with 8mm T screws and nema 17's I am at the following
$110 = 900
$111 = 900
$112 = 750
The reason for my difference on $112 is that I want a slower approach on the Z to avoid just ploughing into material.
Those settings in a lot of cases are slightly arbitrary as some people can run faster and some are forced to run slower.
As a general rule you dont want them too high as you could miss occasional steps which would mess with positioning.
If I am working in really hard materials then I have occasionally dropped mine so that I can have a finer over ride control from UGS.
As with any machine manual or CNC feeds and speeds suitable for the materiel.
That is a whole seperate topic all by itself.
