Hey guys! I am working on a cnc machine and I am trying to figure out, what is purpose of stop end pins on my cnc shield. I thought it is for limit switches, but in every tutorial that i watched, it is used for laser. I have been using this one: Arduino Shield pro 3D Tiskárny | dratek.cz
If the pins are for the limit switches, where should I connect the laser? Thanks for every helpfull answer.
I'll hazard a guess that a laser based CNC machine doesn't use a Z axis (I think that's the right axis for up/down), or doesn't use that axis the same as a rotary cutting tool would.
It may therefore mean that what would normally be a limit switch for that axis is freed up for another purpose.
If the end stop signal doesn't pass through any electronics on the shield, then potentially you could use that pin as either an input or an output.
