Code Generator - How to

Using Arduino General Electronics

Hey all, recently I am dealing with custom character in LCD. So I would think of making a simple calculator for me to generate the code to insert into the arduino code just like in the picture attached.

Anyone try this before or any related tutorials to create such useful things to easy my jobs ?

"easiest" way is to make a simple (arduino) program that translates input over serial

10001
10001
11111
10001
10001

(instead of 0 you can also use space

 111 
1   1
1   1
11111
1   1
1   1

use an array of 7 bytes e.g. byte c[7]; and check the working of the bitset() command.

let the Arduino spit out

byte c[7] =
{
  b01110000,
  b10001000,
  b10001000,
  b11111000,
  b10001000,
  b10001000
}

should not be too difficult to make.

You can design your chars in a text editor and when done just throw them through serial in you arduino.

(of course a similar sketch can be made in python or so)
