My first post here, apologies if this is not the right forum but I couldn't find a more suitable place to post.
I'm looking for someone interested in participating in a joint project involving Arduino, long range RF-signal detection and GPS time synchronization. I'm a software guy myself and don't have the necessary skills to complete such a project on my own. I have, however, dabbled with Arduino and the idea seems feasible. Your role would be to build a RF-sensor and handle all the other hardware related stuff.
If you think you have the required experience and would be interested in participating please PM me and let me know how you can contribute. I will provide the details to the right person(s). Note that this is not a job offering! If you choose to be involved it is on a voluntary basis. Further down the road things might change but it all depends on how successful this project becomes.

Maybe someone in the forum would even point to the right stuff if you provide some details.
If you read through the project you'll see that a lot of the posts relate to projects where plenty of people have collaborated both software and hardware-wise.
Just focusing on help from specific people you may be losing the experience and knowledge of other members of the forum that are willing to reply to questions, but don't have the time to enter such project.
Post what you want here and make specific questions based on your research, not open questions like "How do I do this?" and help will pour in.

The hardware has been built before. I am almost certain no one has tried integrating it with Arduino yet. It is no secret, I just feel the whole issue is not ready for public discussions yet.

Well, I am not looking for "help" in the sense you mean, and I did not ask "How do I do this?". As I stated I am looking for someone to be directly involved which I think implies having the time to do it. If anybody is willing to take this on I see no reason not to involve the community here at a later stage. But the thing is, someone has to take on a lead role and manage the hardware design.

It depends on your definition of benefits. You'll get to be involved in, in my own biased opinion, one of the most exciting fields of applied science. As for earnings, let's just say there are several potential ways one could make a good extra income or better if the concept works and is successful. Will you be able to buy your own tropical island and a private jet to fly there? Nah, forget it...
You might have better luck getting a collaborator if you offered some kind of trade for their time. For example, you will probably need a Uno or a custom Arduino for your project so, a good offer might be...For x amount of development the collaborator gets x amount of hardware. It is good that you have a "dangling carrot" to reach for but, if the carrot is not reached the collaborator will lose benefit.
Please don't think I am trying to shoot your idea down, it just takes a lot of work to develop a project.

This is not a hardware only project. I will be spending considerable time with developing and maintaining the required PC software which is relatively complex. This is my investment and a collaborator would have to be prepared to invest in a few Arduinos plus other components for the prototypes, and of course their time. It might sound risky but I am already working in this specific field, have been doing so for 10 years, and have a good understanding of the market potential. I would certainly not suggest anything like this or waste my own time if I did not firmly believe it was feasible.
EDIT: I see now this should perhaps have been posted under Gigs and Collaborations instead. Sorry for that.
