Coloeduino Help

Hey guys, new here to the arduino world! And my first project is a 116 RGB LED coffee table that I am currently working on! I got the table all built and framed, and all the LEDS in place, now it is just the tedious task of wiring these 116 leds! I did some research and found that the colorduino can only power 64 RGB LEDS, so I bought two colorduinos, and split my table into two 8x8 matrixs. I have yet to figure out how to connnect the two colorduinos together to work together. But that will be for later.

Anyways so far I have only done 2 rows of 8 leds, it has been allot of trial and error, I first used packing tape to isolate the connections and hold the pins/leds to the table, unfortunately the packing tape did not stick to well, and found that hot glue worked perfectly! Anyways since I am using heat and also such small wires (30 awg) I want to connect my row of leds to the colorduino to see if the leds light up.

So I guess my first question is, when the colorduino is first booted does it come preloaded with some sort of lighting sequence? Or will I have to program it first?

Second, My colorduino has two GREEN headers that say VIN and GND. as pictured below, Wich one do I use to power the colorduino, also the header says

VIN
VIN
GND
GND

Why is there two vins and two gnd? do I have to bring two wires to it? Also I beleive it said 5v is what I need to send to it?

I have no experience of this product whatsoever, but you can download demonstration software from the iTead web site.

But is there one preloaded?

?

i doubt it will be preloaded with a program

try and program it so it flashes a simple led

I doubt it too, and seeing as no one is confirming one way or the other perhaps you could ask the manufacturer, or the dealer you bought it off?

Hmm well if that is the case, does anyone know a good solution to test my leds? The arduino programing is the part I have no idea about, so I'd like to save that for last/
