Colour Sensors: APDS-9960 RGB vs TCS34725

I've been looking into colour sensors and trying to decide which to purchase. Adafruit has a nice, round Flora version of the TCS34725. But by what I've seen on Sparkfun, the additional gesture sensing of the APDS-9960 RGB could be useful too. In terms of just colour sensing, is one better/more accurate than the other? I couldn't find any other website or forum that compares them.

Some additional things to consider:

  • Arduino uses the APDS-9960 on the Nano 33 BLE Sense board.
  • The APDS-9960 is also a proximity sensor.

As for accuracy, I would recommend comparing the information in the datasheets for each sensor.
