COM port not recognized unless you unplug and plug in

I’m trying to interface my nano with a python script I am writing and running on Windows 7. One weird thing I noticed is that leave my nano plugged in when I turn the PC off and then when I turn the PC back on again my COM port isn’t recognize unless I unplug it and plug it back in again.

This is an issue because I want to leave it plugged in all the time. Is this a common issue? And is there a fix for it?
