Com Ports Aren't Showing Up Win11

I have a Arduino UNO with a ch340g communications chip I have installed the drivers and set up the IDE but when I plug it in my laptop I can't see any ports in my device manager

I have tried
-deleting and reinstalling the IDE and CH340 drivers
-I closed all the services adn startup programs
-I checked my usb cable with a multimeter to see if it is continuous (It is continuous from the usb socket till the chip )

Welcome to the forum

You did not say which connections in the USB cable you checked. Did you check the data lines as well as the power lines ?

When you plug the Uno into the PC using the USB cable does the PC do anything even if a new COM port is not created ? Any system sounds, anything new in Device Manager ?

Did the board work in the past?
Can you post a link to the board that you bought?

yes I did check all of them they all seem to be in order

no sounds at all it powers up but nothing gets detected from my windows

It is a clone board it has atmega328P soldered on to the board

Did You select UNO in the, I think, tools menue?

In the IDE? yes under the tool tab it says Board: "Arduino Uno"

Good.

When you press the reset button, do you see a pattern of several quick flashes on the built in led?

With the board connected with usb cable, what voltage do you read on the 3.3 volt pin?

the L led does blink in quick Secession yes

I am reading 3.34 V on that pin and there is 5V coming from my USB cable to the board

My main problem is I cannot get the CH340 driver to show up in my device manager despite the fact that I tried to install it multiple times I can see it when I check my drivers from command prompt but the device doesnt show up no matter what, and it doesnt show up as unknown device when I plug it in

So I tried it on another win11 machine and somehow on one of the usb ports it worked so the device definetly works and there is something wrong on my laptop. I did the same stuff on the other machine ,I have gone to the ch340 website and installed the driver, same as my computer. I am guessing it is because of the usb 3.0 ports?

this is the laptop I am using

The first is a sign that the bootloader is indeed present. The second is an indicator that the CH340 is in good condition.

There have definitely been reports of issues with usb 3.0.

thank you, I will buy a usb 2.0 hub and try it tomorrow.

@cattledog thank you for helping, yeah a cheap usb 2.0 hub solved my issue.
I can do uploads to my arduino now.
