I believe that I have discovered the answer to my own question concerning sharing Ground between multiple Arduino's, and the answer is "NO". I discovered that with a shared Ground and with potentiometers connected to each Arduino, the wipers are also connected. So I will NOT be sharing either the ground or the 5v output.
