OK, I see you are using an outdated version "674" of the Linux image. I tested the instructions I provided here using the latest image version "881".
Please update your image by following the instructions here:
https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/portenta-x8/image-flashing/
Note that documentation provides multiple alternative techniques for updating the image. You can chose whichever is most convenient and available to you:
The approach using uuu
is a bit more complex, but doesn't require any sort of special account, and you are clearly very competent in working with command line tools so you wouldn't have any difficulty with that one if you chose it.
Please note that when you update the image, it will cause the firmware version to be reverted back to a version that has the bug I mentioned in post #21.
So, after updating the image, you will also need to update the firmware again by following the instructions from post #21, just as you did before.
Hello @ptillisch,
Sorry for the delay.
- I am currently trying to update the OS by following the guide:
- I set the BT_SEL switch to ON, then pressed and hold the BOOT button within 2–3 seconds of powering up, and also pressed and released the RESET button while continuing to hold BOOT, before releasing both buttons simultaneously.
However, after doing this, nothing happened — the board did not enter flashing mode.
- After trying the above Step No:2, I also noticed that ADB shell is no longer accessible from PowerShell.
- While following Step 1, is it possible to flash the image file directly onto an SD card instead?
- I also attempted the method:
Could you please help me to resolve this and successfully update the OS?
Thank you,
PSR
