Hello friends? I am edward and want to ask a question. I am very new to arduino but i am hoping with time i will be an expert. I want to ask which board or a combination of boards i can use to connect a phone to a display. The display should be a dvi computer monitor. The other question is, is it possible to connect many phones simultaneously and if people send messages at once then on the display get all the messages at the same time using the same board?
How do you envisage the phone(s) communicating with the Arduino?
Either by gsm, wifi or bluetooth.. But i would prefer a mode of communication that does not require so much programming but open to the one that would handle much communication without so much delay or with no delay at all.

That would depend on which phone(s) you want to connect, and how you want the phone(s) to communicate with the Arduino.
The display should be a dvi computer monitor.
And how do you envision the Arduino communicating with it? By far, the simplest is for the Arduino to talk to the PC that is driving the display.
Of course, if you are doing that, the Arduino really doesn't need to do anything, since the phone can just talk to the PC, instead.
I had seen as though some boards have a dvi connection so no need for a pc. What i am avoiding is having to make an application which may be too costly.
My project entails people in a crowded place that need certain services and the person to offer the services is not near them and thus they need to alert that person. Is this do able using arduino?

Got a link?

So, how DO you envision people getting their phones to do anything with your system?

What kind of services?
and the person to offer the services is not near them and thus they need to alert that person.
How does that involve a DVI-based display?
1, check out mk 00674 its named annikeeen andeeu and is for ios and android phones.2,a person or persons sends an sms asking for a beer or food in a bar or restaurant. Imagine 100 people want to order in one instance. Then , the bar man has a display where he is monitoring all communication and tell the waiters what the messages are saying. Like [i need a burger and a coke on table 7] so this way, a client will not need to wait to be served or go looking for a waiter rather a small message will save you all this trouble. Dvi connection is coming in the sense that the barman will need a wide screen to view this messages. Hope you get me pauls?
PaulS asked where you had seen the board with DVI out?
So your customers need to download an app to place an order (which you'll need to write)? What happens if they don't have a smart phone?
But they can use short message service. I ahve given the name of the board in my previous message dannable.

Except that your "annikeeen andeeu" is really an "Annikken Andee U". ![]()
