Comparison of amplitude

Hello,

Firstly, I am rookie. I am doing a project that needs to collect sound signal from multiple microphones and figure out which one has the greatest amplitude.

The microphones I am using are surface-mount microphones and I've built the necessary amplifier circuits...now I need a shield/circuit that can produce the envelope of the wave form and change the +/- output voltage to a 0 to 5V output...

Some ppl recommend me to use the Shifty VU shield, but the problem is the output of the microphone is a pin output, not a audio jacket...

Does anyone has any better recommendation for shields/circuit?

Why is this a problem? Just get a jack plug and wire it to your microphone.

I also want to know whether arduino+Shifty VU is able to handle 6 different analogue input simultaneously..

According to here http://docs.macetech.com/doku.php/shifty_vu_shield One shield is only able to handle 2 analogue input (2 channels)

Is it possible to use multiple Shifty VU shields? If so, how should I do it?
