let's clear some things up between you and me shall we?i'm 45 yrs old, i'm a head chef - so my time is very limited - i raise 3 kids and i am a beginner at arduino.. so please don't tell me to try harder when i been at this for days.. all i want is a simple project done and accomplished for my kids. i don't need a lecture.. what i want to do you can do in an hr what would take me 4mo.. i don't have the time and patience.. i just want to build this for my kids as 1 of them requested it.
i gave you everything that i could.. i just want to incorporate something as in post 7.. i just wanna see this done so i can put it all in a box and plug it in for them.. i'm not into this whole arduin thing like you and everyone else.. you have yer strengths and i have mine.. you can out code me but i can out cook you...

“Time and patience” are even more important than electronic and programming skills. You may want to look elsewhere for a hobby.

You could at this stage say politely, “sorry guys, I want to do it my way”, and walk away, but you keep believing some magical person is going to put all the pieces together for you.
