Hello, I bought some of the...
"433MHz WL RF transmitter + Receiver Module Link Kit for Arduino/ARM/MCU Wireless"
from Newegg. My brother had asked me to start a project for a remote fireworks detonator. I wanted to make something unique with decent range. So, i grabbed them, they were cheap. But, in my stupidity. I quite frankly have no idea how to actually utilize these.
So, what other parts do I need to accomplish this goal?
I would like the remote to basically look exactly like this, but with the wireless above
Then of course the receiver part. I'd probably have to put in a sturdy fireproof casing, so it isn't damaged by the fireworks and doesn't require long wire.
So, I obviously will have to program the device. I've already downloaded the software from this site. But, I am still learning. Like I said I'm a complete newb. I did buy a few kits however they are "Velleman-Kit" brand. They were on sale at Radio shack. I did successfully build 2 of them. One was a basic video game plugged into TV. The other a metal detector. I'm good a problem solving and such. But, with this I don't even know where to start.
So, what else will I need to make this happen? I'm sure once I know what boards and other controllers I need I can look into specific guides from there?
Note that operating fireworks is a safety-critical endeavour, definitely not a project
you should be considering as a newbie unless you can keep yourself at a safe distance
from the fireworks at all times - expect your system to malfunction and be prepared.
So, as far as what I'd need to make use of these wireless devices? I have 4 sets of them, so I'll start another project with one set to get an idea how to work them properly.
I assume the kits I posted would include what I need?
I have several of these Velleman-kits left to build. The first few went by pretty quickly and didn't have any issues. Another few I have are intimidating. "Microcontroller Programmer & Experiment board" and "USB Experiment interface board"
Probably because I haven't learned any of the code related stuff yet.
