I got a kit from a family member..I know how to make a circuit but how do I add my microcontroller and power supply for a breadbord.

Many people use these jumpers to connect the Arduino and other components with headers (male and female) to the solderless breadboard. They are sold in many places.
If you're completely new to arduino, I recommend that you follow some sort of guide. Most arduino kits come with a booklet/manual... did yours not? Regardless, there are many online lessons that can teach you how to use arduinos, like this one by Paul McWhorter on Youtube.
