Component glue or oxidation

My project design has a JST PH connector which sometimes becomes a bit loose, requiring opening up the enclosure and resetting the connector by less than 0.1mm. My thought was that somehow, by using it, the socket became loose. Has anyone used a silicon glue to secure JST PH connectors? Or, is it more likely that the connectors become oxidized over time.

This also happens with the socket for anATTiny86

the fact that 2 connectors are being affected suggests to me that it is some kind of oxidation/contamination issue.

Is the project subject to vibration?

It’s almost certain you have a bad crimp or an intermittent break in the wire going into the connector.

Probably a bad crimp.
