Hi there folks, I'm a bit of a newby here, and hope that one of the more experenced users can help with a component I received in a starter kit, as I have no idea what it is. It has the number 1888 or 8881 on it. It has 3 pins and is metal encapsulated with an X shape cut out of the metal revealing the inside, so it must be some sort of semicondutor/sensor.

Also is it possible to post a picture of it on the forum.
