Computer's Beating Heart

Ok, here we go. I want to create a beating heart effect with 1-2 LED strips inside my computer case, I figured the easiest way is through the arduino. I want the "heart" to speed up once the computer is being pushed hard. I was wondering if there was a way of "importing" the data from the computer's task bar to the arduino, setting it to an array, then choosing which "pulse" through multiple functions. The actual skeleton isn't hard, its the way of getting data imported to the array.
Kind regards,

Yes, but you need a PC application to read out the relevant data and send it over Serial.

In Python:

On the Arduino side you delay(1000 - loadpercentage*10) between led high and low.
Better use the “blink without delay” mechanism so you can keep reading the Serial.
