I have 2 arduino boards and neiter are being recknoised by either of the computers I try.
The older one wasnt working so I thought it must of been a bootloader problem but it turns out the new one isnt working either.
Windows just doesnt have a clue what it is and no new hardware pops up just USB not reckonised! Argh!
It cant be the arduino and the only thing am thinking could be damaged is the USB cable but that looks fine!
The new arduino comes with the flashing led program so its not the board (at least for the new one).
Am so lost with this and I dont have another cable to eliminate this possible cause!
What the hell! I put it into a different usb and it work! WHY!
So you have a PC running windoze. That's what it does sometimes. It gives up on one USB port but when you plug it into another it jolts the operating system into having another go at initializing. This happens sometimes with the IDC-2 PIC programmer but I have never herd it happen to an Arduino utill now.
Now my problem is that none of the usb's ports reckonise it on my laptop usb ports like they did before!
Try removing the drivers, power down, boot up and then reinstalling the drivers.
It all works now but just a very strange thing occurs.
I have 4 ports and only 1 works but once you plug into that one port that does work the arduino, it works for all the other ports after, so now 4 work.
But then this all resets to only one working again when the computer is reset.
If that makes sense :S I dont under stand windows!
