Confused... Uno doesn't run sketch after reconnecting USB cable

Hi guys

I am trying to run the blink LED sketch in my uno. Everything works well when I upload the sketch. However, when I unplug the usb cable and plug it back in, the LED is not blinking any more (i.e.: sketch does not restart automatically).

I read that this could be due to a bug in the bootloader. Is this correct? If so, where can I find the latest bootloader to add to my arduino?

I don't see why it would be a bug in the bootloader. What sort of bug are you expecting ? Something that kills the sketch in the flash memory ?

Some things to try.

Try pressing the reset button on the arduino.

Check the arduino is receiving power through the usb cable.

Try supplying the arduino with an alternative power source and see what happens.
