Connect hard disk drive to esp32/esp8266/espressif boards

Is it possible to connect a hard disk drive to an espressif board, i.e. esp32? I found some threads with this topic, but these ones are some years old.

For example, i've got an external hdd, which gets his power supply of 5v usb. Can i put the data cables to an espressif board and the voltage/ground to an external 5v power supply? Best thing would be, if i could 'speak' to the hdd like to an sd card (miso/mosi with those librarys).

No.

Get a Pi Zero W.

I would love to see you try and generate a 1.5Gbps LVDS signal from an esp32... and that's just for the old-fashioned SATA-1. It's 6Gbps these days.

Sorry this is an old post. - The question was using an external HDD via USB port. Of course drive the SATA interface is pointless. Even the raspberries would use the USB. Still unfeasible?
