Connect ultrasonic sensor

Hello everybody,

I am just working on my first arduino setup using a ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and a I2C-display.
Using the breadboard and breadboard wires, everything works fine as I expected.
However, for my purpose, I need the ultrasonic sensor further away (about 1.5 meter) from the arduino and the display.

As the breadboard wires are only about 20 cm long, I am looking for a way to use longer wires.

I was thinking of buying 10 meter of wire which i can cut to size, but I don't know how to connect these to the sensor or the breadboard. Are there any connectors or what is the typical way of connecting a sensor with a customized wire length?

Best regards
Thomas

what kind of I2C display do you have?
an oled or LCD?
why does the Ultrsonic sensor need to be so far?
