Connecting a camera for motion tracking

Hello all!
Im fairly new to arduino and i want to start on a project that will allow me to use a USB webcam i have to track my face. My basic idea is that the camera will be connected to two servos which will control the x and y movement so that my face will be in the relative center of the cameras view. The biggest problem is figuring out how to take the input data from the webcam and use it to something that the aruino can use. Some starting points or guidance would be very helpful.

Thank You!

You might be able to do something with a small grid of IR sensors to detect the hot area of a face , not tried it but looks interesting ...

AMG8833 IR Thermal Camera

The Arduino-compatible Pixy camera has color blob tracking built in. You probably have to train it to recognize the color of your face.
