i found the arduino uno board after 6 years of losing it in my store room, after connecting it to my laptop, i found that the lights on the arduino uno board is working properly but i found the sticky liquid leaked out from it on backside. And in device manager, it is notified under USB controllers as unkown USB device(device descriptor request failed) , will it be alright to proceed?
No.
That sounds like an electrolytic capacitor has failed. You need to remove and replace all the electrolytic capacitors, and clean up the board.
