Connecting resistors with leds

I wanna to ask is the are a difference if I connect the 220ohm resistor from the 5v on the breadboard toward the long leg (cathods) of the led and the other side to the ground

Like the first image

And the way that I connect the 220ohm resistor from the short leg (anode) toward the ground and connect the cathode directly to the power source

Like the second image

I want to know if there any difference of both ways are the same to decrease the current ?

Hi and welcome.

I can't see your images, but if I understood your description, then, no there is no difference.

when you create a thread, and then have questions. it is best to keep the same thread.

maybe the moderators could delete or merge this ?

The long lead is the anode and the short it the cathode.
The important thing is the long lead is more positive, to make
it light up.
