Connecting things to gas boilers

The last time playing with boilers ("gas" or otherwise) came up as a topic it was immediately terminated.
But this topic hasn't been terminated.
I don't want this topic terminated - and I was resolutely opposed to the termination of the other.

What's the difference here?
Not enough people playing attorney, the safety conniption threshold hasn't been met?

The discussion you are referencing was specifically about overriding a safety lockout on a system that was stated to be malfunctioning on numerous occasions. This discussion is basically a remote thermostat, with no attempt to override the built-in safety features of the boiler in question. No idea what the moderators are thinking, or if it will get shut down. Googling "arduino thermostat" does bring up quite a few projects, some of which are on the arduino.cc website.

Unfortunately there is no wiring as the whole controller thing was added by me not long ago. This project is basicaly a wireless button that when "pressed" tells the boiler to turn on by using the designed functionality on the boiler, nothing is changed to the boiler or its safety feautures. I will look into the arduino thermostat setup thanks

This moderator is thinking exactly as you describe. I have no intention of shutting this down because the OP is only proposing to connect to the boiler in the manner intended by the manufacturer. I do not speak for other moderators.

That is a deliberate misrepresentation. It would at its root have no more been an override than a person standing there pushing a button. The system lockouts were still in place.

Hypocrisy Stinks.

Split from main topic before this discussion derails what the OP in the original discussion was asking about.

@runaway_pancake I know you feel strongly about this and I know you don't agree with me, however, having that argument in someone else's topic does not help them get the answer they want. Feel free to discuss this here. If you don't like the title I chose I am happy to change to one you prefer.

Thank you.

Oh, how clever.
By this Herr Bebbington is employing his great powers to take the heat off the bacon.

If this topic is too sensitive for this group, please delete it, I got my answer thanks

Or I could have just deleted your comments because you were hijacking the other topic then stopped you from posting for a while, but I thought it better to let this run. I actually think you are raising a valid point: where to draw the line (or even whether to draw a line at all) in safety critical projects. However, although the point you raising is valid throwing insults out does not really make your case.

I probably won't reply any more in here, but will read whatever anyone else posts. Please keep it polite.

Thank you.

What insults?

And presentations of facts and data - that support product (NanoEvery) specs - result in "bar sporting" of same.

And if you dare to raise 'safety concerns', to flag a post for such, you actually risk being Suspended for that if your motivation for doing so is adjudged as being less than sincere or something.
