Connecting to Wifi to pull data from a website

Hello, I am using the feather Huzzah ESP8266 for wifi connection and trying to connect a website: https://www.surfline.com/surf-report/little-tybee-island/5842041f4e65fad6a7708a5f. To pull data to print on an lcd screen. I keep getting an error message about not being able to connect to the website (I attached an image for reference). Any ideas on if there is a bug in the code or maybe it's my hotspot?

const char* host = "https://www.surfline.com/surf-report/little-tybee-island/5842041f4e65fad6a7708a5f";

That is a URL with protocol, NOT a host name. The host name is www.surfline.com.

How do I pull the data information I need from that specific URL?

How do I pull the data information I need from that specific URL?

With tweezers.

First, you get to where you can connect to the server.
Second, you get to where you can make a GET request, and see the response from the server.
Third, you save the data you get from the server.
Fourth, you parse that data. Exactly how depends on:

  1. How you saved the data
  2. What format the data is in
  3. What data you "need".

We are a long way from being able to help you parse data.
