Connecting two arduinos between them via BT

Hello, people
I am doing a project and for the purpose of the project I need to connect two arduinos between them via bluetooth. I have not previously worked with arduinos, so why question is it possible to connect them via BT and if it is true can you explain the protocol a litlle bit.

So the last question, if I configured two BT modules and they are connected to send a signal I just need to put some value to data pin?
