Working on a school project ... need some help please with the hardware to connect a L298N motor driver to Arduino Uno. The L298N appears to require a female connector/plug (4 pin) to connect with the input pins (IN1, IN2, IN3 and IN4).
Can anybody tell me what type of connector/plug that is - name, spec, size?
Any work arounds to connect the L298N and Arduino without the proper connector/plug? My breadboard wires are too stiff to wrap around the L298N pins.
Any help here would be much appreciated. I'm new to this electronics stuff, but interested in learning.
Cross-posting is against the rules of the forum. The reason is that duplicate posts can waste the time of the people trying to help. Someone might spend 15 minutes (or more) writing a detailed answer on this topic, without knowing that someone else already did the same in the other topic.
Repeated cross-posting will result in a suspension from the forum.
In the future, please take some time to pick the forum board that best suits the topic of your question and then only post once to that forum board. Please read it.
I just use jumper wires like these. They come in Male to male, Male to female and female to female. My L298 module has male pins and my Arduino Uno for example has female pin connectors so I would use female (l298 module) to male (Arduino Uno module). While not the greatest quality they work and they are inexpensive.
The best help I can provide is to ask you to Purchase the Arduino cookbook and read it, this will give you some basics. Also use the online tutorials and videos available, there are many good ones on this web site. At this point you will be able to define the problem and may have already solved it. It helps if you define the problem with specifications including a flow chart, schematic, power requirements, and EMI requirements if any. The suggestions below this are also very good.
