Hi all,
I’m working on a project that will have several different dc outputs, mostly for power LEDs but also a Peltier and some other things. All will be in <= 12 v, and up to a few amps.
I’m trying to figure out the best option for connectors to attach these devices. The controller is going to be in a laser cut acrylic box, so panel mount or panel and pcb mount is what I’m looking for.
My natural instinct would be to use barrel connectors, since they are reliable and cheap and fit the voltage / amperage needs well, but panel mount barrel connectors generally only come in jack form, suitable for power input rather than output, and I’d like to keep the genders correct and standard if I use a gendered connector. I have thought about having barrel plug pigtails come out of the box, but it seems like there should be a better option.
Any suggestions for connector types that would fit these needs well would be much appreciated! Ideally they would be readily available in cable form as well to minimize the amount of ends I have to solder on.
Thanks!!
