Contact Closure to MQTT message with POE

Hello,

I am looking for a little bit of advice on what I hope is a very simple project. I'm led to believe arduino is the tool for the job but I have not had any dealings with it thus far...

The requirement is for 10x dry contact closures to trigger messages to an MQTT broker. Thats it!

The network connection should be wired, DHCP and POE so its simply a case of plugging in.

Could anyone advise the most suitable hardware and how the necessary code is put together?

Thanks in advance.

James

ask a Moderator to place this in Gigs and Collaborations...

The Gigs and Collaborations forum board is for offering paid work. From @ceejm1's post, I don't see any indication that this is what they want, so I'll leave this topic where it is for now.

@ceejm1, if you do want to pay for this assistance, let me know and I'll go ahead with the move. Otherwise, the forum members are happy to help people learn for free (but usually not to do the project for you).

Thanks,

I think I can probably manage it, was just looking for suitable hardware suggestions and steer on the code if that's acceptable?

James

It sounds acceptable to me.

Doable with arduino. I'd use a Raspberry Pi and PoE Hat and be done in an afternoon.
