Content length?

I have a problem deciding what the content length of the following SOAP message is.

POST /Service HTTP/1.1
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
SOAPAction: "publishXmlEvent"
Content-Length: ???
Connection: Close

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="" xmlns:xsi="" xmlns:xsd="">
    <publishXmlEvent xmlns="">
        <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
        <Event xmlns:xsi="" xmlns:xsd="" about="f4605a3b-cad6-4198-a4d2-9760e799aa81" prefix="inertia: linksmart:" eventStatus="Production" schemaVersion="0.5.0" systemsID="LinkSmart" xmlns="">
        <EventType typeof="TempSensorDevice" />
        <Topic typeof="OBSERVATION" />
        <IoTEntity xmlns="">
        <IoTProperty about="01842FD8:TempSensorDevice" typeof="inertia:TempSensorDevice">

When I counted the number of chars I got 1217 and that is without the newline chars, some help would be highly appreciated.

"The Content-Length entity-header field indicates the size of the entity-body, in decimal number of OCTETs, sent to the recipient or, in the case of the HEAD method, the size of the entity-body that would have been sent had the request been a GET."

Sounds like you should be counting the line endings, too.
