Control a Relay using network time.

Hi all,

I hope this is the correct forum section for my newbie question.

I got the following project:

I need a relay switch on and off a certain times during the day.

To make sure the time is correct I want to use an NTP server where the Adruino can update the time say once a day just to keep in sync.

So:
-Network Time Sync
-Timer set to several times during a day repeating every weekday.
-Relay that is switching a device on and off

I got an Adruino Uno Starter Kit wit an Uno Rev.3
A realy is also in the kit.

Any ideas would be great.

What are you using to connect to the network? Ethernet shield or what?

And where is this NTP server, on the 'Arduinos' local network or elsewhere ?

That project could be difficult for a beginner.

I would suggest a board with ESP8266 WiFi module, like a NodeMcu.
Example code for what you want to do here.
