i'm new here & would like to ask on how to control 220Vac motor with arduino.
is it enough to control it through a SSR?
What kind of motor?
it is electromagnetic brake motor ref:4RK25A-CW2ME
and also 2 poles induction motor ref:5IK90A-DW3E
One of those and probably both are induction motors which are highly inductive. You must ensure that if you use an SSR its rated for such loads. Same goes for electromechanical relay.
The specs also mention a capacitor - its not clear if this included or whether you have to add this yourself.
oh..really? i'm not really sure about the SSR but if you could help, the SSR that i want to use is A5P-204V from JEL System.
about the motor, the capacitor is included with.

I couldn't see any max inductive load listed but its zero-crossing turn on and off and the diagram shows a snubber circuit across the output so it might be upto the task - certainly its overrated by a good margin for the current.
