Control iPhone camera using Arduino

Hello Forum

I’d like to build a remote control for the iPhone camera and I need some help.
What I’m looking for is something similar to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r7I-D74x7w

No documentation and/or schematics on that but it seems like the two LDRs are triggering the relay which is triggering the shutter via the iPhone earbuds.
I don’t get how the relay is connected to the earbuds tho…

This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qSeUeGUD-Y) shows how to use iPhone earbuds’ volume control as trigger for the shutter, but this doesn’t work on mine (iOS 6.1.3 + http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD827LL/A/apple-earpods-with-remote-and-mic)

There’s also a commercial version of the external trigger (http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/iphone-cable-trigger/) so it shouldn’t be very hard to make it from scratch.

Any suggestion?
Thanks

This guy seems to have the problem pretty much nailed.

Thanks a lot Riva! This looks quite helpful :)
