Hi,
I have seen on YouTube how to modify servo but the problem is that you can't control them like usual servo.I want to control a servo and write degrees so it's possible to modify a servo and then control it with milliseconds? And write 360 degrees
Thanks
Some sail winch servos like below seem to be able to perform both functions.

A modified servo can do this?
Don't think so, standard servos have a potentiometer on the output shaft which can't do whole 360 and
modified one's don't use this pot at all.

That is not what I've seen in the servos I've disassembled.
OK then how does it know where it is if the wiper is between the ends of the track rather than on
the track?

Perhaps you should take one of your servos apart and see.
I stand corrected. I accidentally pulled a servo pot apart one time and it didn't have a pot stop. I checked the servo in the attached pix I modified and it does have a pot stop. I just checked a large sail winch servo I have and it appears to have no internal stops. So it may depend on the particular servo maker as to weather the pots have stops, or the pot is installed such that the gear stop is the stop used. I haven't tried it yet but in the future I may remove the gear stop and pot stop if there is one and see if the servo will act like a sail winch servo.
