Control Servo DateTime Alarm

I know how to control a regular servo that rotates, but how can I control a linear servo? For example tell it to start at a certain position, go to another and come back. I was looking at using the L12 servo from firgelli to do this. I would like this process to happen twice a day. I heard that there is a time keeping feature in Arduino to synchronize it with a PC but the problem if the Arduino got reset the time changes. I wanted something reliable to extract the time every time and trigger the function that causes the actuator to move I would appreciate if someone could give some insight and help on this. Thanks

Add a Real Time Clock with battery backup. Then you don't have to worry about the connection to the PC.

but how can I control a linear servo?

Which linear servo?

I was looking at using the L12 servo from firgelli to do this.

I clicked that "link". Nothing happened. Try again.

I would like this process to happen twice a day.

Ok.

I heard that there is a time keeping feature in Arduino to synchronize it with a PC but the problem if the Arduino got reset the time changes.

And a few microseconds later, it gets back in sync.

I wanted something reliable to extract the time every time

The Time library is reliable.

I would appreciate if someone could give some insight and help on this.

The project sounds very simple. Should be up and working 20 minutes after the linear servo arrives.
