Controlling 12v Neon led strip Brightness

Hi, I have 1m long 12v Neon led strip. Not addressable or anything. Normal led strip.

I want to control it's brightness via wi-fi, so I inserted a wi-fi module to system and I can turn it on and off using a Relay Board. But I also want to control it's brightness. So I need to control weather its Amps or Ohms. But how can I do it? What kind of device or module can I use for that?

Thanks.

The way to control LED intensity is by using PWM. I haven't a clue what your wireless system is or what if any uC you have in the mix but you want PWM to manage the LED intensity.

My reply is generic since your post was generic.

PWM is a very efficient way to dim an LED. (1) You are quickly powering the LED on and off (both voltage & current), faster than they eye can see and lowering the average power to the LED.

But some power supplies/LED drivers won't work properly with PWM.

It's also a good way to dim a regular incandescent light bulb or to control the speed of a DC motor. AC light dimmers use something similar, "chopping" part of the AC cycle.

(1) The LED only appears dim. Regular light bulbs can't heat-up or cool-down that fast so they actually dim. And you can actually slow-down a motor for the same reason.
