Controlling a 90v DC motor with arduino

Hi, I'm a student from the Philippines and I'm trying to create an automated pitching machine for my undergraduate project.

I'm wondering if someone can help me.

I am planning to control the speed of the 90v dc motor and make it change speeds at least 5 times then loopback. is this possible to do or Arduino cannot do this?

Please help me

Need a little more information.
How many amps is the motor?
What kind of motor controller do you have?
Please supply a link to the data sheets for these items.
To make things go smoother, please read the how to use this forum sticky at the top of this page.

You might look for an H-bridge that can handle 90v.

I would look at companies like Siemens, Allan Bradly and many others for a motor controller that can be controlled with a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). You can use the arduino to replace the PLC and the dangerous part with the 90V is taken care of safely. You can also talk to them and give them the motor specifications and what you are trying to do. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.

Depending on the power needed from the motor, you might consider a motor of a lower operating voltage, maybe a car or truck starter motor. A AC washing machine motor might be an option if its speed can be controlled via a triac type motor speed controller.

Can you explain what you mean by the dangerous part? I want to control a 90v dc motor as well and trying to figure out the steps I need to take. Thanks
